There's Too Much to Do: What do I do First?

Narrow down your list of tasks...

There are a lot of times when I sit down to make my to-do list and there's just SO MUCH to do that I get a little bit frozen.
Then, instead of being productive, I reach for phone, or a cookie, or head to the couch for a power nap. We've all been there...

So, what's the answer?

A long time ago, someone taught me about the Six Most Important Things to Do List.

Choosing the most important things to do gave me a manageable amount of items on my list, and prodded me into action.

But, in teaching, there are just WAY TOO MANY things to narrow it down to just six. So, I started putting things into SIX CATEGORIES, and that helped so much!

My categories are:

  1. Grade 6

  2. Grade 7

  3. Grade 8

  4. Leadership

  5. Projects

  6. Miscellaneous

Some of the things on my list this week are: print student rosters, plan welcome email for parents, copy Parent Response form, and organize my piano stuff.

You can get a free copy of this Six List Sheet HERE. Of course, I realize not everyone's categories will be the same, so I've included a sheet with blank headings for each of the categories so you can customize it for your needs.

I use mine in my iPad in the Goodnotes app. But, I used to print and keep in my agenda notebook and did it with pencil/paper. Either way works!

Hope this helps you as you work on all those tasks!

You've got this!
